Veterinary Referral

Under new guidance (found in chapter 19 of the supporting guidance to the Code of Professional Conduct) maintenance physiotherapy treatment may be carried out on healthy animals without veterinary referral. Despite this, if anything unexpected is found during the assessment of your animal, legally it may be necessary for your veterinarian to be informed.

Please click on the link to the right to download a Veterinary Referral Form

Under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, any treatment on an animal not carried out by a veterinarian may only go ahead following referral from a veterinary surgeon. As a result, your vet must give permission for your animal to receive veterinary physiotherapy treatment. A veterinary referral form can be downloaded from the link below.

Owner consent

Prior to your appointment, I please ask that you read the terms and conditions and complete the owner consent form found to the right, regardless of whether veterinary referral is required or not.
